Colorful, funny and crazy. These are the three words the friends of Tiana Rumph immediately offered up to describe her. The Osceola senior is more than just a jokester, though – she has a passion for baking.

Tiana initially became interested in baking by watching television programs on the topic, primarily the reality show, Ace of Cakes. The series details the daily in-and-outs of head chef, Chef Duff’s cake shop business. “[He] inspires me,” Tiana said of Duff. Yet not every pastry show is a source of inspiration for Tiana. “I hate Cake Boss,” she commented.

In her spare time, Tiana makes cookies. She named peanut butter as her favorite kind to bake, but added that she doesn’t often make the tasty treats for others. “I don’t share,” she joked. But Tiana’s love for baking is not only her hobby, but also her future career aspiration. “I want to be a pastry chef,” she remarked. “[I love to] make cookies.”

When Tiana’s not in the kitchen, whipping up a batch of delicious pastries, she is most likely watching her favorite television show, Phineas and Ferb, of which she claims to have never missed an episode. “I’m gonna get a Perry the Platypus tattoo,” she laughed. “[My friends] don’t believe me.”  One such friend, Laura Lalande, also in 12th grade, commented on Tiana’s love of the cartoon series. “[She] wears Phineas and Ferb socks, shirts, backpacks,” Laura stated. “She’s very colorful [in clothing]. She’s funny.” Whether cooking or collecting laughs, Tiana is spreading joy.
