Seniors who didn’t pay dues, better “beware and be scared,” said Mr. Kontrick.  Dues were supposed to be paid by Friday, December 16th, but Mr. Kontrick is still collecting them.

Seniors have to pay their dues for the senior activities. These dues cover a few of the senior activities, such as “the senior breakfast, picnic, the senior gift, cap and gowns, the venue, diploma covers, and medallions,” said Mr. Kontrick, Spanish teacher and senior sponsor.

Senior dues are $100 dollars, not including Grad Bash. “I have not paid my dues yet and I don’t know when they are due,” said Jason Joyce, 12th grade, but he isn’t the only one. Sarah Gallagher, 12th grade, said “I haven’t paid my dues yet.” To Jason, the cost is “alright. I think it’s a fair price, but it’s a lot for people who can’t afford it. If you can afford it, it’s good.”

Senior dues can be a lot for the kids. Some students needed help from their parents to pay for their dues. Jason said, “I will get some help from my parents, but not much.”

Some seniors have already paid up like, Anelys Perez, 12th grade, who said, “I paid my dues already. The price is understandable but a little high. I paid my dues all by myself because I have a job.”

The only way seniors get their stuff for graduation is if they pay their dues. Sarah said, “The dues are expensive and I will need my parents help.”
