Halloween is usually associated with gore-y haunted houses, outrageous costumes, and pumpkin spiced everything, but Disney is taking a different take on this fall favorite: a family-friendly Halloween party. “Mickey’s Not So Scary” Halloween Party runs for 9 more nights, where Mickey and his friends spread some Halloween spirit, joined by some more fiendish friends.

Spreading joy and happiness is a part of Disney’s manifesto, and the scariest holiday of the year is no exception. Trick or Treat spots are located throughout the park with a variety of sweet treats available for guests. Mickey’s Boo to You parade is led by the Headless Horseman through Frontier Land, Liberty Square, and Main Street USA. The parade features Pirates of the Caribbean, Peter Pan, The Haunted Mansion, the Disney Villains, and many more.

Going to the Halloween party has been a tradition for senior Schae Schaefer. “This year is going to be my third year going,” says Schaefer. Schae says his favorite part of the Halloween party is the exclusive character meet and greets and the “Boo to You” parade. Despite being a little pricey at $80 a ticket, Schaefer remarks, “I think it’s worth the money to go, even though it seems like a large price tag for just five hours of party time. There’s so much cool stuff that you can only see there that I think it’s worth it.” This year, Schae is looking forward to see the “Hocus Pocus Villain Spell-tacular” at Cinderella’s Castle.

Tickets are available on the Walt Disney World website.
