Lunch line cutting going on the rails

Badly injured while waiting in lunch line: the concept seems ridiculous, but here at Osceola High School that silly concept is close to becoming a reality. Students waiting in line in the lunchroom for their meals have reported that high schoolers, mostly juniors, are jumping on and over the rails in order to move ahead in the line.

We’re all hungry, I understand that, but people don’t need to hop on metal rails to advance their place! You shouldn’t cut at all, but this could easily go wrong in a number of ways! What if you slip while cumbersomely clambering over a rail? That could not only result in the danger of yourself, but you could hurt your peers as well! “They do it all time, go over the rails or under them.”

One girl says. “It really is annoying.” Another girl says that she’s only seen it happen “when their friends tell them to do it.” One boy I talked to admitted that he was an offender. “I do it, I admit. I mean, I am very hungry.” That isn’t the end of his story, however. “I sometimes do regret it, and I would be angry if it were to happen to me.”

I, for one, am very annoyed by the amount of cutting and rail jumping that takes place in the lunch line. People who dislike it should go contact a school administrator, of someone of authority that can put a stop to the potentially dangerous actions of the high schoolers cutting to get their lunch. We can make sure that adult regulation will take place in the lunch lines, ensuring that a consequence be handed out to the people who cut others in such a reckless manner; after all, it is the schools job to ensure a safe environment in school, is it not?
