Book Review: Enter the world of espionage with I, Q

The I, Q series consists of six books that follow the cross-country adventure of teenagers Quest (Q) and Angela. The two recently became step-siblings when their musician parents got married and started a band. Now they are on a cross country tour that will take them from coast to coast. However the trip soon becomes complicated when the kids get the feeling that they are being followed. Long story short, it turns out that the band’s main roadie and chief of security is a former spy.

His name is Boone and despite his age, his senses never fade. Same goes for his canine companion Croc. Angela’s mom was a U.S. Secret Service agent who was reportedly killed when she attempted to defuse an explosive device at Independence Hall in Philadelphia. The truth thought is she faked her death in order infiltrate an mysterious terrorist organization that call themselves “The Ghost Cell”. The Ghost Cell has been preparing for a long time to bring the United States to its knees through a series of coordinated attacks that will inflict significant mass casualties.

Boone and his rag tag team of spies will do anything they can to assist Angela’s mom Malak to bring down the Ghost Cell before they bring down the country. The I, Q series does a good job reminding readers of previous highlighted incidents from the past books as well as giving examples about different government agencies so the reader doesn’t get confused.

Readers have never really seen what happens when teenagers inadvertently get involved in the war against global terrorism. All the books also like to show the readers the current location of where the story is as well as the date and time the following chapters are going to take place. The I, Q series is a great series to get into if espionage and cross-country trips interest teenagers that live in this 21st century world.
