Flag football team hurting, fighting on

With 2 wins, 1 loss, and 1 tie, the JV flag football girls are doing well. With only 2 hours of practice 5 days a week with coaching from Coach Kennedy, and student managers Kevin Underwood, and Mike Olson, and the captaining from Sarah Travis, and Kelsey Lindbolm, “I think we improved a lot from where we started.” Says Erin Dean, 9th grade on the JV team. Erin thinks the best game they had was against Lakewood because they had good plays. But according to Coach Ziesenheim; the varsity coach “They were able to beat Bogie for the first time in 4 years.”
The varsity team has a record of 5-4 with district playoffs to look forward to. They are coached by Coach Ziesenheim, and Coach Rink. Lauran Haynes, 9th grade on the varsity team said “April 9th, we defeated the undefeated team from Seminole, who are our rivals.” Their captains are Krissy Kulavic, Merisa Kaylor, and Emily Brown.
The coaches have hope for the teams. Coach Ziesenheim said “The teams are doing well so far. We battled a lot of injuries this season and had girls step up and play in positions they normally would not. We are a young team with only 4 returning varsity letters, but we get more experienced every week. We have had our ups and down but looking to finish the season with a winning streak. District Playoffs start in 2 weeks and we are hoping to make a run.”
