Recently some track athletes went to the state competition to go up against various teams. Specifically three students were in two events, pole vaulting and the high jump.

Those three students were Carson Waters, 12th grade, Jeanna Cube, 12th grade, and Jen Kistemaker, 11th grade. In this specific meet, Carson competed in the pole vault event as well as Jen Kistemaker. Jeanna Cube was in the high jump event.

Mr.Eagleson, drivers Ed teacher and head coach of the boys and girls cross country and the girls’ track and field, attended the meet as well. In the end, Carson got 5th place in pole vault, Jen got 2nd place in pole vault, and Jeanna got 7th place in high jump.

“All three of our athletes that competed at the state meet are not only extraordinary athletes who are talented in many events, they are all great kids,” said Coach Eagleson. Coach Kramer, Head volleyball coach and head coach of boys track and field, also said, “In addition to the individual scores, the Girls took 18th place overall in the state. That is the best team score of any Pinellas County School from all of the classifications.”
