Warriors’ win propels team forward

With their final regular season win, the Warriors held on to a 5 year streak.  They have not lost to school rival Seminole Warhawks for that long.

Coach Palmer said, “It has nothing to do with it being my last year. Every game is important, especially Seminole. They’re our neighbor, and our rival.”

Friday night, the Warriors took control of the game quickly as Nick Shytle ran for a touchdown ending the first quarter with a score of 6-0. The Warriors did give up a touchdown in the second quarter but Travis Wateska scored a touchdown,  making the score at halftime 14-8. When halftime ended, both teams walked to the same end zone and started to exchange words, but nothing happened as both teams were separated. The third quarter started off great as Nick intercepted the Warhawks which led to the Warriors first field goal of the year by Maverick Abulone. Travis then ran for another touchdown making the score 23-8 at the end of the third quarter. Warriors still owned the field as Nick ran for another touchdown that led this game to an end, with the Warriors winning 29-8.

However, after the last play of the game, a fight broke out between the two teams.

“This game meant a lot to me. The fact that I used to go to that school and that it was my regular season game of high school really made it sentimental,” said Travis.
