While everyone was enjoying their last bits of summer, Osceola’s swimmers got straight to work, starting practices August 1st.  As sophomore Kyleigh Little explained, “Practices are tough but the coaches keep you motivated to finish each drill.” The Orange and Blue teams are gearing up for their first meet on the 20th of August, where they plan to perform well. To earn the orange and blue uniforms it is not easy work; the swimmers endure tough practices and conditioning. “Even though the practices are all different, they tie together helping us to be prepared for the actual swim meet,” Sarah Clark, sophomore, stated. As the season opens up, the Orange and Blue teams are in a little friendly competition, beginning with team bonding games and now a fundraising game. “The practices can turn into a team bonding; we sometimes bring certain materials to practice for a team competition,” Kyleigh little added. If you’re considering joining the swim team next year, all you need to do is have the athletic packet filled out, complete the concussion course, have school insurance, and don’t forget to bring a little friendly competition along. Just be ready for intense practices and many swim meets.
