Last year, students entered their choices on the computers in the media center.

The first month of the second semester has just ended and Warriors have to start concentrating on registration for next year’s schedule. “I don’t like it. What if you change your mind?” said sophomore Joana Hila.  Feshmen will have February 6th through the 10th and also the 13th to the 14th, sophomores will chose classes February 21st to the 24th, and juniors will have February 6th to the 10th.  The dates may seem to be in an odd assortment to some Warriors, but as Ms. Polizzi said, “It depends on what the rest of our schedule looks like.” So essentially which grades go first for scheduling and what days they construct their schedules depends on Guidance and the events already planned.  It doesn’t matter which grades go first anyway because “all classes are available for everybody”, said Polizzi. Classes aren’t given on a first come first serve basis.

There is a slight exception to the “all classes are open to everybody” statement though. Sophomores who have not taken the beginning courses of culinary, TV production, or engineering are not allowed to do so their junior year; the same goes for juniors becoming seniors.  This is because these certain programs have specific requirements and certifications that go along with them which would entail gaining three credits in the course.  What this means is that to take culinary, for example, a student must take the first level of the course freshman or sophomore year to be able to have the time to acquire all the credits for that course if they wanted.  There is possibly some more information to consider before choosing your schedule for next year, as Hila said, “I won’t make the same mistakes”.
