Normally at this time of the year, students would see 8th graders from all over Pinellas County start to roam the halls. This year, it’s a completely different story.
According to Guidance Clerk Mrs. Reitz,
Shadowing is a program to help incoming freshmen. This gives a chance for students to tour high schools around the county to see which school best fits their liking. It also gives students a sneak peek of what high school will look like.
For high schoolers, this is their chance to show younger students their school. Current freshmen have the knowledge of being the new high schooler and 8th graders can see themselves in those shoes. Unfortunately, freshmen won’t get a chance to give 8th graders tours of their school. “I was looking forward to being able to have a shadow this year,” stated freshman Avery Latto, who shadowed at Osceola last year.
