New music artist becoming a mimic – A review

New+music+artist+becoming+a+mimic+-+A+review

Sixteen year old Austin Mahone’s new single, “Say you’re just a friend” featuring Flo Rida, guarantees he is going to be a one hit wonder. Not only is his song not original, his swag isn’t either. He looks like a mimic of Justin Beiber. ‘Say you’re just a friend’, the chorus of his song comes from R&B singer Omarion called “Just Friend.”

How can somebody bring to the table a new artist that doesn’t even have his own originality? His voice, first off. Who needs another young teen that sounds like a baby with no bass in his voice? Fans need somebody who is unique like Nicki Minaj.

According to Moxie, “Mahone has 1.9 million Facebook fans, 1.7 million Twitter followers, 600k YouTube subscribers, and notched over 99million viewers without a record label.” How is this possible when students at Osceola don’t even really know him?

Christina Reichert, 12th grade, said, “I heard about him on the internet; he looks like Justin Bieber, well, his hair does. I’ve never heard any of this music though it didn’t look worth the look.”

Students even listen to his music and say “No Way!”

Leah Lindell, 12th grade, said, “He looks like a wannabe Justin Bieber. Are you kidding me? He is just like him. Even his music.”

Katelyn Dorr, 12th grade, said, “It’s just like every other song on the radio.”
