It’s the final countdown (cue song)

On the wall of Student Services is a whiteboard. This whiteboard is like many others, in that it is a board that is white, but this one in particular is special. It counts down how many days are left until the end of the year.

Updated by Mrs. Nolan, she does it simply to have something to look forward to. “I’ve been doing it for about 5 years. The teachers look forward to it more than the students.”

Mrs. Nolan feels bittersweet about the year ending: “I’m happy that its summer, but sad I’ll miss my friends, but just for a short time.”

“I will miss my daughter, Megan, and all my wonderful TAs,” she continued.
The school year ends June 4th.

Two students, Jason Gabay, 12th grade, and Gabby Fisher, 11th grade, talked about how they felt about the school year ending. “I think that’s normal, because things come and things go, and school is one of them,” Jason said.

“It’s a semi-sweet feeling. I’m happy to be ending school, but sad to know I only have one year left of high school,” Gabby added.
