The “Future” arrives for students

Pinellas County Schools has recently begun a new career guidance program with the goal of helping high school kids discover their stability and interests. It is called Future Plans™. Once the online program is completed, a report will be acquired that can be used by guidance counselors and parents so they can prepare the user for career success. This fall will be the release time for this program that will be made available initially to 11th graders, 12th graders and 10th graders during their second semester. Even after a student graduates, Future Plans will still remain useable. Important dates such as the SAT and ACT will be sent as a notification in the program as a reminder for the student. Many Warrior students already have in mind what they want to do after high school and go to college.
Michael Vasquez, 12th grade, said that he wants to become a federal agent in the DEA or ATF. Jeff Hartog, 12th grade, stated that he wanted to become a U.S. Coast Guard rescue swimmer. Steven Thompson, 12th grade, has dreams of joining the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Department. Christopher Carlisle, 12th grade, only wants to become a professional basketball player.
According to Principal Mr. Bohnet, the Future Plans program will actually be released at Osceola Fundamental High in November 2014. Go here for more.
