Classroom entryways get holiday makeovers

After a Christmasy competition, Mrs. Thompson’s “gingerbread house” won the door decorating contest.  One judge said it was difficult because there were so many good ones this year.  Some classrooms had decorations that were predictable like reindeer, but others, like Ms. Powers’ science class, had unique decorations.  Outside Powers door is a skeleton offering free hugs covered in lights.

Last year’s winner, Ms. Eubanks, was hopeful that her class would take the title for the second year in a row.  “Who doesn’t like to win?” she said.  Last year’s winning design was of Snoopy and Charlie Brown at Snoopy’s dog house which was covered in lights. Even though they didn’t win this year, Eubanks enjoyed the activity sponsored by the leadership class. “It was good to have the class work together.”

The winning design by Thompson’s 5th period is in the business hall.  It is a gingerbread house door which makes the door to her classroom look like the door to the house. Ms. Thompson did not expect to win but said the whole experience was “really exciting”.
