Warriors planning on possible precipitation

Last year’s spring break was quite dreary for students. According to weather.com, the forecast for last year’s spring break went something like this: “Monday is going to have scattered thunderstorms, Tuesday has a 50% chance of rain, Wednesday has a 20% chance of rain, Thursday doesn’t have a chance of rain but it will be mostly cloudy, and same goes for Friday with a 10% chance of rain.”

Julia Brady, 11th grade, remembers how her plans got ruined last year. “I was going to St. Augustine beach for the week and it rained almost every single day! It was awful and I ended up going back home early.” But this year students hope that it will be sunny so they may enjoy the activities over their break. “I am going to St. Pete Beach most of the weekend with my mom and my good friend,” said Julia. Another junior has similar plans. “I am going to Fort Myers to wind surf and also to surfboard with my sister and her college friends. I am super excited!” said Natalie Kulavic, 11th grade.

But a study by farmer’s almanac, a website that predicts long-range weather says that there will be a few thunderstorms and warm weather. If this forecast is true, students may have to make alternative plans. “I would hate to have my spring break be rainy; that would ruin my beach plans. But if it were raining, I would make alternate plans to meet Natalie in Fort Myers and hang out with her, her sister, and her college friends,” said Julia. Natalie also said she would have to change her plans but “either way spring break will be awesome because I’ll still be in Fort Myers and Julia may be able to be there too, that’s still pretty awesome to me.”
