The whole guitar ensemble worked with a clinician at last month’s guitar festival at Blake HS.

The strumming of acoustic guitars and applause of the crowd could be heard last week at the 2015 All-County Guitar concert. According to guitar teacher Mr. Campbell, this is the second year that Pinellas County has hosted the performance. This year, the event was held at Osceola the night of April 7th.

Students from both middle and high schools performed, including musicians from Lakewood High and Countryside High. A 9th grader from Lakewood High School said,

“We will be playing lots of classic and folk stuff but also some Pop music from Madonna and several songs from the Beatles,” he said.  “I love playing guitar; I have been playing guitar for a year now.”

Erin Stein, 11th grade, said, “I like to play guitar because I love the challenge of figuring out (how) to play each song.” She also said she thinks everyone should play guitar.
