The basketball program here at Osceola has never been known for being a prominently strong team. After a 10-15 season last year, the Warriors have a lot to prove, but have confidence in that they will win games.

Jeremy Crane, the head coach on Varsity, is in his 5th year of coaching at OHS and runs the program with the help of JV Coach Derek Pinna. The Osceola Basketball Program runs 11 months out of the year, which keeps all of the players in good basketball form.  The team plays a “run and gun” offense involving fast-paced plays with many good shooters. The team is led by seniors Chase Ridenour, Cotye Curry, and TJ Ryan who have all been in the program their entire high school careers.

With different teams in their district this year and an experienced coaching staff, the Warriors have a good chance of reaching their primary goal this season. That goal is to win their district title, which is something that the team has never done in the history of its program since it began in the late 90s.

Tickets are $4 for all home games and students should sit in the new “O-BLOCK” student section. The first home game will be on November 22nd against Northeast High School.

Bruce Kurtz is a player on the OHS Basketball team and has played for 2 years.
