Advice for incoming grades

Incoming freshmen may stand in the middle of the hallway and talk to friends, but that is definitely a “Don’t”. One freshman suggests, “incoming freshmen should be prepared for anything.”

There are “do’s” and “don’ts” when you are a freshman.
Do: do your homework. And try to make new friends.
Don’t: run to class, be loud, and have wheelie backpacks. Incoming freshmen should be ready to be the little ones again like there were in 6th grade.

Sophomores have their own set of problems. Jennah Lily, 10th grade, said, “sophomore year is really hard.” You should prepare for hard classes, the FCAT and a lot of homework. So, you should study and stay organized. And don’t overwork yourself, and overload your schedule. According to Erin Stein, 10th grade, the best advice is to “Think about your Bright Futures hours now.”

Darian Hooker, 11th grade, said, “Prepare for the ACT/SAT.” He also advised to make sure to do all your summer reading and assignments, so you don’t start the year off with a bad grade. Like every year, you should not procrastinate on anything, or you will get off track and end up getting an even worse grade in that class.

New seniors should be prepared to get very busy and to stay focused on school.

“I think the best advice to give is not to overthink everything; just try your best and have fun along the way,” said Matt May, 9th grade.
