To raise awareness, Ms. Wilma and her family have sold and worn shirts with the words, “Zip up for Isaac.” All funds from the t shirts go to the family in trying to pay for the medical bills for his care.

Ms. Wilma is staying strong with two words. “Think positive.”
This is the second update on Isaac. For the first story on Isaac, go to the link that’s here. For the first update, go to the link that’s here.
For those who don’t know or haven’t read the previous stories, Isaac is Ms. Wilma’s grandson. She is one of the Snore No More coffee cart’s warm, bright, welcoming faces.
Isaac was born over Spring Break with a serious medical condition. Since then, Isaac’s family has been waiting for him to receive a new heart.
“All the nurses love him and his parents spend all the time they can (with him),” said Ms. Wilma.
She says that the best way for students to keep up with Isaac is to visit the family’s Facebook page.
“I would love to see him in person but I don’t want to take a chance and give him germs,” she said. In response, English teacher Mrs. Sauble smiled and said with a laugh, “Working in a high school is like working in a giant petri dish.”
A few weeks ago was “CHD week,” according to Ms. Wilma. CHD stands for Congenital Heart Defect, the disease that Isaac has. To raise awareness, some teachers have purchased a t-shirt that says “Zip up for Isaac.”
