Seniors were walking around in togas during homecoming week, but why? Some students think that’s simply the way it is.

Ryan Crosson, 12th grade, said, “I believe that the seniors wear the togas and pillow cases because it’s just a tradition that all seniors have done.” Another senior agreed with Ryan.
Rachael Piscitello, 12th grade, said, “I believe it’s a tradition that all seniors have followed and it just brings the seniors together.”

Miss Roush, the Student Government Adviser said, “I don’t how where wearing togas and pillow case dresses came from, but it’s just a tradition that seniors’ always have done the Friday before Homecoming. It’s just something that they all can remember and just do their own thing.”

According to language arts teacher, there is a connection to the big screen.
Mrs. Sauble, said, “Wearing of the togas started in the late ‘80s, early ‘90s. It began as a trend from the movie “Animal House” and it just became a tradition over time and it became an every year thing for the seniors. This trend is to make seniors stand out from the other classes by wearing the togas and following the trend.”
