Osceola’s football team in action from 2015.

The Warriors couldn’t keep their five game win streak alive as they went up against the Clearwater Tornadoes for the district championship game. “I think we played a very good game, but unfortunately we made too many mistakes that cost us big time,” said Nick Bycroft. Chad Brittain started off the game with a touchdown run. After that touchdown, the rest of the first quarter was controlled by the Tornadoes as they made two touchdowns and recovered a Warrior’s fumble.

At the end of the first quarter, Clearwater led 14-7. The Warriors started out strong in the second quarter as they recovered a Tornado’s fumble that led to a Travis Wateska touchdown run. The Warriors kept their defense strong as Brandon Welch intercepted the Tornadoes but that did no good because the Warriors just fumbled the ball again, giving the Tornados possession of the ball again. Halftime score was 21-14, Tornados’ lead.

“The first half we played Warrior football, but in the second half things kind of fell apart,” said Chad. After halftime, the Warriors offense and defense just left the game as the Tornados just kept on scoring on them left and right.

After an injury, the Warriors couldn’t do anything the rest of the third quarter as the score was 42-14, Tornados’ lead. The Warriors were still slow on offense and defense going into the fourth and final quarter. They only scored once on a touchdown run. The Warriors did throw an interception that was returned for a touchdown which led the game to an end with the score of 49-20, Clearwater.

Since the Warriors did lose this game, that means that they have to travel on the road to play their first playoff game.

However, tonight the Warriors have one last regular season game against Seminole. “Everyone should be ready to see us defend our field for the last home game of the season, and the last home game for all of us seniors. We’re going to show them who the better school is and claim bragging rights for another year!” said Chad. For all of the seniors this is their last home game of their life at Osceola.

“It means a lot. I have had some of the greatest times of my life on the field, and I hate for it to end. With that being said, I really want to go out with a bang and make this last game one I’ll remember for the rest of my life” said Ryan Allan.
