Are Rays wild enough to win wildcard?

The Tampa Bay Rays are competing now to win a wildcard to make it to the championships. In order for a chance to win a wildcard, the Rays must win the last three games of the season.

The Rays have recently won three games against the Orioles on September 20th through the 23rd. The Rays also won against the Yankees on September 24th, 25th and the 26th. These wins will make them one step closer to the championships.

Some students here are confident that the Rays will win the last three games in the season. Emily Carter, 9th grade, said, “Yes, I think they will make it; they have been winning a lot of their games.” Other students are also agreeing such as Ethan Grantges, 10th grade, who said, “Yes, I believe they have a very good chance.” Many students around the school are supporting and rooting for our team, Soleil Sarcinello said, “We have to cheer on our team all the way there.”

However, some students don’t think the Rays will make it to the championships. “I don’t feel like they will win because I feel they are far behind and there are a lot of good teams they have to beat” says Taylor Ballard, 9th grade.

Many students agree that if the Rays continue the way they are playing then they will most likely make it to the playoffs. As of right now, the Rays are ahead of the Cleveland Indians and are continuing to progress with wins.
