This past Friday night, the Osceola Warriors had their first regular season home football game against the Pinellas Park Patriots.

Going into the game, Coach Palmer said, “our biggest asset is that our focus is on team accomplishment not individual. We expect all of our seniors to lead.”

The game for the Warriors started out on the right foot as Osceola capped a 16 play drive for 69-yards with a Ryan Allan 8-yard touchdown run to put them up 7-0. Then a Pinellas Park fumble led to a Travis Wateska 4-yard touchdown run, increasing Osceola’s lead to 14-0.

But after halftime, it was all Pinellas Park. The Patriots scored 21 unanswered points to win the game 21-14. “We played a hard game and our defense had a few plays; we should’ve stepped up but we didn’t,” said safety Brandon Welch.

The Warriors are still confident going into this week’s game at Dunedin. “I think we have a real good chance at going to Dunedin and beating them. After watching game film, I feel like we have some things that’ll hurt them,” said Brandon. “We also have that extra push this week after losing this past week.”
