For seniors, 2017 holds much to look forward to. Some of the upcoming events include prom, the Senior Olympics and, of course, the day of Graduation.  Students have only a little bit longer than 4 months to live up their last year of high school and many are feeling optimistic about this season of their lives coming to an end.

“This last year has gone by faster than all of the other ones without a doubt,” said senior football player Oscar Williams. Oscar has played defensive tackle for the Warriors since he was a freshman. “I am most excited for all the senior events that take place during the second semester,” said Oscar. Prom is going to be the first big event for the senior class. This year it will be held at The Coliseum in downtown St. Petersburg.  For those who do not know how to get to the Coliseum the address is here. Prom is expected to begin at promptly 7pm and students attended are expected to dress accordingly. Tickets will be on sale once the date gets closer for $50 each, according to senior class adviser Mr. Kontrick.

The second big event for seniors is the infamous senior Olympics. The Olympics is an Osceola tradition that allows the senior class to take place in fun, interactive and interesting games with their fellow classmates and teachers. Some of the activities that took place last year are a slip and slide, corn hole and a large blow up slide. “The date is not set yet for exactly when this year’s Senior Olympics will be but we can expect to have a date with in the next month or two,” said Mr. Kontrick. Students will be expected to bring swim suits to the Olympics in order to take place in the games.

Finally the last big event for seniors to look forward to is graduation. This year’s graduation will take place at Tropicana Field in downtown St. Petersburg. The exact location can be found here. One big change to this year’s graduation ceremony is the time. In the previous years, graduation was held after school so that teachers and other faculty members could attend. However, this year it will be held at 10:15 am.
