According to the  The Washington Post the highest grossing movies of the last weekend in January were, Split, A Dog’s Purpose, Hidden Figures, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, La La Land, XXX 3: The Return of Xander Cage, and Sing.

For the rest of 2017, movies that are set to come out are Logan, Guardians of the Galaxy Volume Two, Spiderman: Homecoming, Transformers 5: the Last Knight, The Lego Batman Movie, Justice League, Wonder Woman, Brains, John Wick: Volume Two, Cars 3, Beauty and The Beast, Alien: Covenant, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tale, Thor: Ragnarok, and of course Star Wars 8: The Last Jedi.

There were many records broken such as highest grossing and most tickets sold during  2016, but will 2017 movies set new records?

What movies are guys anticipating versus what movies are girls waiting to see?

Victor Garcia, 12th grade, said, “I cannot wait to see Star Wars and Thor: Ragnarok even though they’re still a while before they come out.”

Another Star Wars fan is Brandon Croft, 12th grade, said, “Of course I’m looking forward to seeing Star Wars because that going to be really good, but also I am looking forward to seeing Transformers 5 because I love that series.”

Julia Freeman, 12th grade, said, “I want to go see that dog one that is out now because I really love dogs, and that movie looks really cute.”

Another Warrior wanting to see a movie that is currently out in theaters is Cameron Fink, 12th grade, who said, “I want to go see Split because those types of movies really interest me, especially psychological thrillers. The ones that mess with your mind are the best.”

While Brandon and Victor are looking out forward to movies that do not come out for several months, another student is looking forward to seeing a movie that is currently showing at theaters.  Alexis Holloway, 12th grade, said, “La La Land because it seems cool besides those are usually the types of movies I go and see.”
