The Paws club is dedicated to animals and their well being.  Club sponsor Mrs. Groshans said that the goal of this club is to “provide awareness and resources for local animal shelters and learn about career opportunities dealing with animals.”

This club was started by senior Alexis Brent with the idea that the school could do something to help. This October there will be a supply drive for the organizations Pet Pal and Friends of Strays which are based in St. Petersburg. The drive will take place October 8th-22nd.

So far, according to Mrs. Groshans, 10-12 boxes of paper were already donated.  If the teachers would like to donate, they can have their TA’s drop the newspaper or supplies off in the library as well.

According to Mrs. Groshans, “Impacting a local shelter can count as volunteer hours towards a Bright Futures Scholarship” with approval beforehand.
