Past rehearsal carries new meaning in the present for seniors

Seniors Carly Davenport and Sophia Paige rehearsed “Side Show” before spring break. They will miss out on performing the show due to the school’s shutdown.

Before spring break, seniors Carley Davenport and Sophia Paige rehearsed “I Will Never Leave You” for the now-canceled OFHS spring musical, “Side Show”.

Mr. Kevin Pace, Director of Theatre Arts,  videotaped that rehearsal and is sharing this video. 

Mr. Pace said, “Sadly, Side Show will join the myriad of other theatre productions from around the country as being only resigned to the memories of the cast and crew. John Campbell and I are working on a virtual chorus video of the opening number to share and have for posterity.

I did want to share just one pre-production video. This was from very early on in the process, but I think you can see the potential even then. For those of you who’ve had the pleasure of having Carly Davenport and Sophia Paige as students at any time the last four years, I think you know how special these young ladies are. They would have absolutely brought the house down as our conjoined twins and been serious contenders for awards nominations. (song lyrics below)
 
I am saddened that this is all we get but I am reassured at the attitudes of our students. They have already been together virtually talking about next year and planning our show ideas. Your OFHS Theatre Arts Program looks forward to continue creating beautiful art for the benefit of our community in the fall.”
