It’s finally Homecoming season! The theme has been announced as “Luau Lights.” With the formation of the theme, it has had everyone asking, how does the school decide themes? Well, according to Mr. Clay, student government forms the ideas for themes as a group, eventually coming to a unanimous decision.
This leads to the question, why Luau Lights? Mr. Clay stated, “Student government wanted a theme that had more of a party atmosphere than previous years. This is in contrast with prom which is meant to be more of a romantic atmosphere. We also wanted to make it easier to dress up for.”
The theme came into fruition in April. With a lot of time to plan, the question was also asked, how does the student body plan to execute the theme? “Well, we do hallway decorations and bed sheets every year, created by student government. The tickets for Homecoming are currently being made by digital design students in their class.”
Every year also comes the infamous Homecoming shirts. This year we are not doing class shirts,” says Mr. Clay.
