As the fall sports come to an end, and the marching season closes, members from freshmen to seniors think back on the eventful few months that have passed. As time moved on, the Osceola Warrior Pride Band both grew as a band, and also as a family.

“I’ve gotten so much closer with everyone. Everybody in the band was so welcoming and kind when I joined this year, and everyone was willing to help me learn and get better,” said one of the new flutes this year, Maia Ricci.

The Warrior Pride Band has accomplished many things this season through hard
work and perseverance. For the freshmen, they had to learn marching fundamentals and how to multitask by not only marching but also playing music and doing visuals, while the seniors had to make their last runs their best ones.

“I started the flute in 7th grade and grew a passion for music, and marching band has only helped me further improve and
continued to fuel my passion for the sport,” said Maia.

“I’m so sad it’s almost over,” said senior Michelle Dinh. “I’m looking forward to concert band though, and I will cherish all the memories I made this marching season.”

Although saying goodbye is hard, the band members push through and remember
that no matter how far the seniors may go, they’ll always come back home to visit.
College also provides opportunities for both marching and concert band, and
Michelle is very aware of this. “I plan to play in college, in concert and marching if
possible.” 

In the end, the Osceola Warrior Pride band had a great run this season, sweeping
awards at every competition, improving upon skills either already learned or new, and
growing together, not only as classmates, but as a family.
