As Warriors made their return to school on Monday, they reflected on what they did over Thanksgiving break. Some traveled to designated destinations; others stayed locally. Yet every path was different. Freshman Chloe Hogan said, “I spent a lot of time babysitting my cousin for money.” Along with Thanksgiving, Black Friday, which CNN states is the busiest shopping day of the year, occurred last week. “I also went shopping online for Black Friday”, said Chloe Hogan.
The Warrior staff’s plates were filled with different activities throughout the break too! Journalism teacher Mrs. DeAtley said that over the break she spent her time “paddleboarding on the intercoastal on a gorgeous, perfect weather day.” Various different events were happening during the break throughout the area. “I went to the sand sculpture festival on Treasure Island, and I went to the Shopapalooza downtown,” says Mrs DeAtley.
For many, Thanksgiving break was so much more than just getting time off from school. Senior Madeline Hazlett got to spend quality time with friends, which is something she values deeply. “My best friend from Iowa came into town and we got to hang around the beaches like old times”, she said.
As the first week back to school is in full swing, Warriors will be back on break in just over two weeks. Check the winter break countdown on the Warrior Record for an update on the exact amount of time left!
