Coach Palys is one of the teachers at OFHS, and he’s in his third year. Even though he hasn’t been here long, he’s already made an impact on students through the classes he teaches.
Coach Palys teaches Digital Media and TV Production, which he said are “my favorite subjects.” He enjoys teaching these classes because they allow students to be creative and hands on instead of just sitting at a desk all day. His interest in media also helps students outside of school as well in life.
In his free time, Coach Palys likes to stay busy and active. He said, “I like climbing, mountain biking, and adventure sports.” He also shared that when he’s relaxing, he enjoys “watching good shows and movies and listening to music” showing how he has a life outside high school.
When talking about his high school years, Coach Palys said his favorite thing to do was “hang out with friends.” He explained that things were very different back then because “we didn’t have social media and cell phones,” so “we actually had to meet up places or get together at people’s houses.” This gives students today a look at how much high school life has changed over time.
Coach Palys said, “I was not very active in my high school,” and explained that “my sports and extracurricular activities were all outside of the school.” He added that it’s “probably something I would do differently if it worked like that,” showing that even teachers reflect on their past choices.
By sharing his experiences and interests in this article, it shows that he’s more than just your teacher but also as a real person who has learned from life and enjoys what he does.
