“This game meant the most to me because it would have sealed our spot in playoffs making us one of the only teams to say we have been to the playoffs 8 years in a row” said Tyler.

“This season was a roller-coaster; the beginning we were up winning games by good margins with outstanding pitching, but by the end I’m not sure what happened to us. We found ourselves in a good spot to go to a potential playoff and left it on the table,” said senior Tyler Malinowski.

The baseball team had a game this past Wednesday night against Northeast for the district championship. The beginning of the game was rough for Osceola; the very first pitch to Northeast was a double to the fence. The player then reached 3rd when Osceola’s 3rd basemen crashed on a bunt and left 3rd unmanned; the runner then eventually scored. The 3rd batter for Northeast hit a solo homerun to left-center field making Northeast’s lead 2-0. The second half of the 1st inning was not any better for the Warriors as they went 3 up and 3 down. The 2nd inning was definitely worse as Northeast managed to score 4 more runs to make the score 6-0.

Osceola’s first hit of the game was a two out double by Jeremy Adams; his hit was one of their three hits all game. The other two hits were singles from Austin Keene and Tyler. When Tyler reached base, he stole second base and went to steal 3rd , but on the throw to 3rd , the ball got past the 3rd baseman and then he went home to score the first and only run of the game for the Warriors.

After that happened, no one else scored for either team. “I feel like our team did not really play to the potential we are capable of and it hurts to see the offense struggle at the plate like tonight,” said Tyler.

The Warriors have been in the playoffs for 7 straight years and now that streak comes to an end. Osceola’s team finished the year with a record of 16 wins and 9 losses. “For the team I cannot say enough good things about what those boys mean to me. We’ve been fortunate to have a chemistry on the field and even better we all have lasting relationships off of the field as well,” said Tyler.
