Osceola’s prom was this past Saturday, with juniors and seniors coming together at the Coliseum in St. Petersburg to celebrate the end of the year in style. As the night progressed, it came time to announce the winners of prom king and queen from the court of seniors who had been voted as finalists. The court included seniors Bailey Taylor, Justice Galaris, Lucas Bibelhauser, Spencer Finkhousen and Wesley Morgan for king. Queen nominees included seniors Madeleine Repka, Delaney Charles, Briana Green, and Jamiia Spradley. Morgan ended up securing the seat for king, and Spradley was crowned the queen.

“I knew a few people that were running for prom queen, and I thought it would be cool to be on the court,” said Morgan. “I thought I had a fair chance of getting on the court but I didn’t think I’d win king.”

Morgan added that he was surprised when he found out he was king, and that he didn’t expect to win. “I would definitely say it made the night more interesting. I wouldn’t say it made prom better, but it made the night cool and more fun.”

In contrast, Spradley thought the odds were in her favor for a win. “I’m cool with the whole senior class,” Spradley said. Still, Spradley felt she was shocked when she found out that she had won, and excited, too.

“It added the last bit of energy to keep the night going,” Spradley said.
