Art Club welcomes newcomers

Every Tuesday afternoon straight after the bell rings, some of Osceola’s most creative students report to Mr. Locascio’s classroom (room 151) to smear paint all over a collage or explore different types of watercolor pallets on their flower drawings or work away at the tips of colored pencils.

Artists of all grades are welcome to Art Club after school. “We’re always looking for more members, and anyone is welcome to join,” Mr. L said.

Students gather for a couple hours and work on whatever they feel they need to work on; whether it’s a contour drawing in their personal sketchbook or completing an assignment from Mr. L. Occasionally, members of the Art Club assemble to work on a collaborative art project, with the guidance of the founder of the club, Mer Martinez, 11th grade.

The Art Club represents the “artistic talent” of OHS, according to Martinez, and students are free to join any Tuesday.
